Over the past few months and largely the past few days the Youth Baseball Board has had numerous discussions on the 2020 baseball season and what direction to take. We realize that things have opened a bit more in the last week in regards to practices, etc. As we do think that this is a positive sign, there are still so many more points we have to look at and take into consideration.
At this point, our main concern for all the kids, parents and fans in general, is the health and welfare of all of you. Can we monitor and place the proper health measures and adhere to them with every practice and game we would play? We did not think we could do this and do it properly, and see that it is handled to the standard that we felt was safe and there would be zero concern from our end.
So at this point, we have voted to CANCEL the 2020 baseball season.
We hope that although you may agree or disagree with this decision, that you will at least understand that we had to make this decision based upon the whole organization, not individual players or teams. This was not an easy decision for the board to make; we want baseball to be played as much as everyone else.
We appreciate your patience and understanding on this decision. We hope that all of you will be back next year, when we can hopefully return to baseball the way we all know and love it.
Once again, the 2020 Oregon Youth Baseball Season has been CANCELLED.
We will work diligently to refund your playing fees to you. This will be a long process, but we will get them completed as quickly as we can.
Thank you once again for your understanding, enjoy the summer!

Congratulations to our 2020 Scholarship recipient, Eli Landas. Eli played his entire youth baseball career for OYB, both in our in house leagues and on travel teams before suiting up for the OHS Panthers. He was a longtime OYB umpire as well as working as the OYB field maintenance person for the last few summers. He will be attending Minnesota State University, Mankato this fall majoring in Biomedicine/Cognitive Psychology. Congrats and Good Luck, Eli!!

As many of you are aware, new Little League bat policies went into effect 1/1/18.
OYB allowed 1 year grace period to adopt new bat rule changes for In-house Rec Leagues. Beginning in 2019, Minor League and Little League teams will need to adopt new bat rule changes. All Travel, Pony, and Teener teams have already been required to adopt the new rules.
