2021 Oregon Youth Baseball Tryouts Moved to Spring 2021 - Date TBD

Dear Oregon Youth Baseball parents/guardians,

We hope that this message finds all of you healthy and safe. We wanted to inform you today the proposed plan for 2021 travel team tryouts for next season.

We have decided to push the tryouts to next spring, likely early April so that we can be outside to hold the tryouts. We hope that moving the tryouts will make all players and families more comfortable as opposed to holding them in September. When the tryouts are held in April, we will take minimal time to announce teams so that teams can begin practice as soon possible at that time.

Thank you for your understanding on this decision. Have a great rest of the summer, and good luck in the upcoming school year.

OYB Board of Directors

We say Good Bye to a Great Man

It is with heavy heart that all of us associated with Oregon Youth Baseball say good bye to a wonderful kind gentleman, Gary Kalscheur. Gary passed away on Saturday.  Gary was one of the founders of Youth Baseball and poured his heart and soul into this organization. If baseball was being played, Gary was there. Gary was one of the original members of the board. Gary took time to coach and then became active in umpiring. Gary still hired the umpires for our Youth Tournaments and the leagues our kids played in.

Gary will be greatly missed, our thoughts and prayers are with Gary's wife Jann and his family. Oregon Youth Baseball is a better organization because of Gary, we thank him for all his dedication to our group. Rest in peace Gary, you will be missed. Batter Up!!!!!!

We want to thank the family for the kind gesture that the  memorials may be gifted to the family or Oregon Youth Baseball. Please send Youth Baseball memorials to 386 North Bergamont Blvd.  Oregon WI 53575

2020 OYB Scholarship Recipient: Eli Landas

Congratulations to our 2020 Scholarship recipient, Eli Landas. Eli played his entire youth baseball career for OYB, both in our in house leagues and on travel teams before suiting up for the OHS Panthers. He was a longtime OYB umpire as well as working as the OYB field maintenance person for the last few summers. He will be attending Minnesota State University, Mankato this fall majoring in Biomedicine/Cognitive Psychology. Congrats and Good Luck, Eli!!

Bat Rule Change

As many of you are aware, new Little League bat policies went into effect 1/1/18.

OYB allowed 1 year grace period to adopt new bat rule changes for In-house Rec Leagues.  Beginning in 2019, Minor League and Little League teams will need to adopt new bat rule changes. All Travel, Pony, and Teener teams have already been required to adopt the new rules.

OYB thanks the numerous sponsors who helped support our program of over 550 youth from the community. Their assistance helps keeps our league fees low and helps with equipment costs and field maintenance. THANK YOU!!
